Superior Insurance Group LLC ("SIG," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("SIG Platform"), our website at superiorinsurancegrp.com, and our insurance agency services.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide:
- Account information: Name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account.
- Insurance application data: Date of birth, address, driver's license number, vehicle identification numbers (VINs), Social Security number (for life insurance quotes), property details, business information, and other data required for insurance quotes and policy management.
- Voice data: When you use our voice intake feature, audio recordings are processed for speech-to-text transcription. Recordings are not stored after transcription is complete.
- Documents: Insurance declarations pages, ID documents, photos, and other files you upload for policy servicing.
- Camera and photos: With your permission, the app may access your device camera to scan or photograph insurance documents, ID cards, and declarations pages. Photos are used solely for document processing and policy servicing. Camera access is optional and only activated when you choose to scan a document.
- Communications: Messages, emails, and call logs related to your insurance service.
Information Collected Automatically:
- Device type, operating system, and app version.
- Usage data (screens visited, features used, session duration).
- IP address and approximate location (for service area verification).
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide insurance quotes from licensed insurance carriers.
- To manage your insurance policies, claims, and billing.
- To communicate with you about your account and policies.
- To comply with Illinois Department of Insurance regulations and applicable laws.
- To improve our services and develop new features.
- To detect and prevent fraud.
3. Information Sharing
We share your information only as necessary:
- Insurance carriers: To obtain quotes, bind policies, and process claims on your behalf.
- Service providers: Cloud hosting (Supabase), AI processing (Anthropic, OpenAI), email delivery (Resend), and phone services (Zoom), all under contractual data protection obligations.
- Legal compliance: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable government request.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest.
- TLS 1.3 encryption for data in transit.
- Row-level security (RLS) ensuring users can only access their own data.
- Automatic session timeout after 5 minutes of inactivity.
- Audit logging for all data access and modifications.
5. Data Retention
- Insurance records: 7 years minimum per Illinois DOI requirements (215 ILCS 5/500).
- Account data: For the duration of your account and 3 years after closure.
- Voice recordings: Deleted immediately after transcription.
- Communication logs: 3 years per TCPA compliance requirements.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
- Withdraw consent for voice recording features.
7. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Third-Party Services
Our app integrates with third-party services that have their own privacy policies: Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (AI-powered form assistance), OpenAI (speech-to-text), Zoom (phone communications), and Resend (transactional email).
9. Biometric Information (Illinois BIPA)
Our voice intake feature processes your speech for text transcription. A temporary voiceprint may be created during processing and is destroyed immediately after transcription completes. No biometric data is stored. Before using voice features, you will be asked to provide explicit consent in compliance with the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14/). We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from biometric identifiers or biometric information.
10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), provides you with additional rights.
Categories of Personal Information Collected:
- Identifiers: Name, email, phone, address, date of birth, driver's license number, Social Security number.
- Insurance and financial information: Policy details, claims history, credit information, payment data.
- Internet or electronic network activity: Device type, browser, pages viewed, app usage.
- Geolocation data: Approximate location from IP address for service area verification.
- Professional information: Employer, occupation (when relevant to insurance applications).
Business Purposes: Providing insurance services, processing claims, communicating about your account, fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, and service improvement.
Third Parties Receiving Information:
- Insurance carriers: To obtain quotes, bind coverage, and process claims.
- Service providers: Supabase (database), Anthropic/OpenAI (AI processing with PII sanitized), Resend (email), Zoom (phone).
We Do Not Sell or Share Personal Information. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your California Rights:
- Right to Know: Request disclosure of personal information collected, sources, purposes, and third-party recipients.
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of personal information (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell or share personal information, so no opt-out is necessary.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

11. Do Not Sell My Personal Information

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date above.
